How do you see yourself?

How does perspective change the way you "see" yourself?

Bird's eye view:

Worm's eye view:

The two perspectives that I chose to see myself in was a bird's eye view and a worm's eye view. These are two very different perspectives that can show a different mood and show different emotions. From a bird's eye view you can see my hair, face, facial expression, and what I am wearing. You can tell how I am feeling. By the look on my face, and the way that I am sitting you can see that I was feeling kind of awkward. This photo shows that I don't really enjoy getting my picture taken.
From a worm's eye view, one can see me at a different angle. The only thing that is shown is my clothing. By looking at this picture, one can see how I dress and the type of clothing that I wear. My facial expression and the way that I am feeling is not portrayed in the photo. The mood and idea of this photo is mysterious because it is not shown how I feel, and it can make someone wonder what I am thinking without my face in the picture.
By looking at me through these two different perspectives one can see different things and feelings. I chose  these two pictures because it shows that by looking at someone from different perspectives and angles you can't really see everything about someone.
This is me testing blogging from my email...

Assignment #2

Olympia- Edouard Manet

Together as a class we analyzed two paintings. One of the paintings being Olympia by Edouard Manet. The paining is of a woman lying on a bed surrounded by pillows and blankets. Next to her, is a servant handing her flowers. While looking at this piece we had to describe what we first saw when looking at the picture, what feelings we received by looking at it, what grabbed our attention, and what conclusions we had about the painting. In my opinion, this painting is portraying upper class superiority and the power and control the rich had over the poor.

The first thing I noticed while looking at this painting was a naked white woman lying on what appears to be a bed. Underneath her are two pillows and some blankets. She is accessorized; wearing a bracelet, a necklace/ribbon, heels, and a bright pink flower in her hair. By her side is a darker skinned woman who appears to be a servant and is holding her flowers. At the foot of the bed is a black cat. These are all symbols of upper class superiority. The fact that the woman is lying naked on a bed gives a sense of power. The fact that the naked woman has accessories and a cat at the foot of her bed is a symbol of wealth. She also has a servant who is giving her flowers while she is lying in bed, which is another symbol of her wealth.

The woman who is lying on the bed has an expression on her face as if she is looking over you. She looks cocky as if she knows that she is in power. She is not acknowledging the fact that there is a servant next to her giving her flowers. She seems like she thinks that she is higher and better than her servant. This to me, is another example of upper class superiority and the power and control that this rich woman has over her poor servant.

In my own view, the painting Olympia by Edouard Manet is a clear example of the power and control that the upper class had over those who were poor.  The naked white woman on the bed represents the rich, who look above people such as the servant who was poor.

Assignment #1

How do you use online photography?

Online photography is something I use all the time and I have for years. I use online photos to show me, my friendships and relationships, vacations, school, sports, and other activities. All of the photo's that I post online are usually through Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. My facebook and my instagram accounts are both private so I post more on those websites. My twitter account is public so pretty much anyone can see what I am posting so I don't post much about myself. I try to stay away from posting photos with personal information because I don't know everyone that I am friends with on most of my social media websites.
